RECENT RESEARCH ACTIVITIES

Experimental measurements of the adsorption of gases on coals have been conducted to provide a basis for our modeling efforts.  Models have been developed which can provide useful a priori estimates of the competitive adsorption of methane, nitrogen, carbon dioxide, etc., on a variety of coals.

 

Our work on the molecular design of chemicals has led to the identification of molecular structures that offer improved performance in applications ranging from solvents for extractive distillation to chemical penetration enhancers for transdermal delivery of drugs.
