Engineering North 4th Floor Renovation

New Offices, Conference Rooms, Student Spaces & Advanced Technology Active-Learning Classroom

The ChE faculty and staff moved into a totally renovated fourth floor in March, 2016.  The renovation was the first step in a phased plan to upgrade Engineering North.  The total cost of the project was approximately $3.4 million.  All furnishings and finish upgrades were funded by donations from alumni.  Our faculty and student spaces are now the equal of any ChE department in the country!

We were allowed to help design the new layout (schematic attached).  The administrative offices have been moved to the south end of the floor.  The number of faculty offices increased by 50%.  We now have an embedded advisor from CEAT Student Services in our main office so that all ChE students receive consistent advising from the same person.  We also designed and equipped a state-of-the-art active learning classroom that seats 84 students.   There is also a new student center with 24/7 access for ChE juniors and seniors.

Photos of some of the new spaces are shown on the following pages.
