Petroleum Undergraduate Minor

The minor in Petroleum Engineering is designed for students who wish to prepare for jobs in the petroleum industry. This minor will allow for more experienced new graduates in the upstream focus of the oil and gas industry. It will prepare students to work as a petroleum engineer as well other positions in the oil and gas business. The required coursework for the minor includes a total of 18 credit hours.

This program is geared towards engineering, engineering technology and physical science students. Aerospace, Agricultural, Chemical, Biosystems, Civil, Environmental, Industrial, Electrical, Fire Protection and Safety, and Mechanical, Engineering students are all candidates for the petroleum program. Physical Sciences students such as Geology majors can also complete the minor. In short the minor is open to all students who meet the prerequisites for the courses.
